Chitty Chitty Bang Bang – Costume Design
An official staple of any childrens nutrional movie education requirements. Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (1968). I want to start this post off with my favourite outfit of the movie. Walford’s own; Babs Windsor sporting this polka dot perfection complete with ruffle and brooch ensemble. I think I want to be buried in this outfit? I’m sure it can be arranged for a small fee.
The main costume kitten is of course Miss Scrumptious. Her hats are physically off any chart and Stephen Jones lust over these as a toddler.
So who doesn’t love a camp queen to provide some coture heaven? This extravgant beast couldn’t be more desirable; from her shoulder pad addiction to her bling on every place possible.
You probably cant see this as your eyes are currently popping out of your head.
Rag Doll Chic? Hell yes
Virginal innocence at it’s finest. Why did Chav’s have to go and steal baby pink?
So… Mr Potts…a Dad who builds jet packs, dances with bamboo, makes Toot sweets and dresses up as a doll. I’d be happy.
Thankyou Disney for making Fairytales that little more desirable and that little less obtainable. Flying cars and sheds and pre-Hogwarts castles. Visting Neuschwanstein is on my list of things to do btw.
Thankyou Ian Fleming!
